Birthdays

Hello there, happy Thursday!  I am feeling quite tired and sore today.  Yesterday me and hubby were moving paving slabs about - a great keep fit workout until you try to move lots of limbs all in one go!!! My legs would not work terribly well this  morning.  Nothing a cup of tea would not solve though, lol.

I have been making quite a few birthday cards, but sent them before I took a photo (sigh).  Here are two of them - I hope you like them and that it provides some inspiration.  Thank goodness for pinterest at times 😄.

Bye for now,

Checking in

Hi there, what a gorgeous day today.  It started when the dog woke me early, and when I let him outside the birdsong which greeted me was wonderful, but deafening!  It's amazing what nature you can hear before the morning commute comes whizzing past.

Here are a couple of cards to show - for no particular challenges.  I just thought I would post, as I have not done so for a while.  Happy crafting! Lynn x

Snippets playground 271/272

Hi there, what a gorgeous day it has been.  I do hope that you are enjoying some sunshine wherever you are.  My card today  features some snippets of card for matting, and a tiny bit of glitter card which I used glossy accents on for a heart embellishment.  This card is going to Di's Snippets Playground.  I think I hear the first ice-cream van chimes of the year!

It will be my lovely mom's birthday soon, so this card is for her.  I have lots to do through March and April, and I always seem to be chasing my tail!

See you soon,

Butterfly Challenge #74

Hello, and a very happy Sunday to you all.  My card today is for Mrs. A's Butterfly Challenge, E for edges and or the colour Mint.

I was very happy to see that Mrs. A had showcased my card for challenge 72, which you can see here.  Thank you so much Mrs. A, and I am proudly showing off my 'TOP 3' badge.

Now, on to my card

I made the card shape and layers using the Scan and Cut Canvas software - I still have a lot to learn, but at least this turned out okay.  I have used SU mint macaron ink for the flourish stamping, and a mint green cardstock for the butterfly body and the shadow on the flourishes.  The flowers I stamped onto copy paper, and used cosmic shimmer paint, but the shimmer does not show up on the photo. The edge is my vertical border and ribbon.

Thanks for dropping by.

(p.s.  I used to have a 'follow' button on my blog, but it disappeared a while ago.  I am not very technical and don't know how to retrieve it.  If any one can help I would be much obliged! :-) ).

Merry Monday 237 - sparkle and shimmer - and snippets

Hi there, another week seems to have whizzed past, but it's great when you get to a week-end! It's all about sparke and shimmer over at the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge, and I really enjoyed making this little card.
I think I shall make a few more of these.  I have used the last little bit of my glitter card though.  Which reminds me, I can take my card over to Di in the Snippets Playground too,  Thanks for looking.

Merry Monday Christmas Challege - stockings

Hi there, my goodness the  storm really raged didn't it?!  I hope there was not much damage where you were.  We just had to pop a few fence panels back in.

The Merry Monday Christmas Challenge this week is 'Stockings', and here is my card, helped by this week's Freshly Made Sketches sketch.

As you can see I changed the image and sentiment placing around. I do hope you get to play along with these challenges. Thanks for dropping by. Lynn x

Butterfly Challenge 72 - paper piercing and fern

Hello there, quick post for Mrs. A's Butterfly Challenge as there are only hours left, eek!  I made this card for the challenge, even putting on some dried Maidenshair Fern, and then realised there was no paper piercing.  As I don't easily give up, I focused on the inside of the card for the paper piercing - saved the challenge!

Got to go!

Merry Monday 235 - Snowmen

Hi there, hasn't it been a glorious day?  A touch of Spring in the air today - much appreciated.  I have my card for the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge.  My snowman comes from a Sheena Douglas range of stamps.  I have used a touch of fluffy stuff and sparkle.  The embossing is copper.  I'm not sure about the sky now I have sponged, but it's there to stay!

I will link up now, and say hello to a few challengers.  Thanks for looking.

Merry Monday Christmas Challenge - Clean and Simple

Hi there,

I managed to ink up a stamp set which I did not get around to doing at Christmas, and I thought it was just the stamp for the clean and simple challenge at Merry Monday.

Thanks for looking, and I do hope you join in with the challenge.

Butterfly Challenge 71 - Underneath and/or umber

Hello there, I do hope your weekend went well.  I am entering my card into Mrs. A's Butterfly Challenge - I opted for 'underneath' - here it is:

I found inspiration from my pinterest board here

I have used a Stamp Addicts stamp from the 'happy lady' collection and as you can see I sponged the butterfly first and added the sillhouette on top, so my buttefly is underneath 😃 - clever, eh?! I must go and link up - not long left before the new challenge.

I looked to pinterest for a bit of inspiration and I used this sketch to help me out:

Hedgehog family - Snippets Playground 265

Hi there, happy Sunday to you all.  Thanks for dropping by.  This week my snippets into the Playground are with oddments of wool I had lying around.  I decided to have a go at knitting hedgehogs.  Here they are

I thought I had best tell you they were hedgies! 😁 Baby has a wonky eye, and mommy hedgehog I see needs some ears!  It is my first go at doing toys - they took longer to stuff and put on eyes, ears and noses than it took to knit the bodies.  Ah well, there are a few more in the making so they may look more cute as time goes on!

I could do with going where Di went on 'teacher training' for a bit of warmth.  And Di, I am glad that the new playground rules are working out well for you.  We are an easy going bunch, and I do like the idea of ' Parsnip's Prefect'.  I still have my old prefect badge somewhere.

Have a good week everyone.

Groovi Lady

Hello, happy Sunday.  My card today uses the Groovi baby plate system with this pretty lady -

I apologise for the shadows.  Evening photography is never good.  She was given a little bit of sparkle pen to finish off.  That's it for now - short and sweet post.

Merry Monday 231 Reindeer

Hello everyone,  hope you are all keeping well.  I am feeling quite tired at the moment.  I have been busy this afternoon digging out a cherry tree stump!  It took about a hour and a half, but I was greatly satisfied getting that bad boy out!  The area is ready for paving now - just another job to think about as Spring come around.
Anyhow enough waffling - here is my card for Merry Monday Christmas - which asks for a reindeer.

I was experimenting with my foiling machine on this one, foiling with an embossing folder.  It came out a little distressed, but I liked it so carried on with the card.  The reindeer stamp is 'holly reindeer' from ClarityStamp, and the merry christmas is from Crafters Companion.

Have a good 'rest of the week'.  Lynn x

NOEL

Hello, how is your Friday going?  It has been very chilly here, and yes we woke to a flurry of snow.
So, thinking of snow,  I found a challenge blog called Merry Monday, and it gives inspiration each week for those christmas card makes.  Here is my first challenge card.

The challenge 230 is to use 'Noel' and/or scandinavian feel to your card - as you can see I went with 'Noel'.  The stamp is from an SU set and the stocking is a Crafters Companion die.  The design is from the current Freshly Made Sketches, and I shall link to that too, This is the sketch
Thanks for calling in.  Have a good weekend.

Snippet Playground weeks 263 and 264

Hello there, this is nearly another week whizzing by.  No snow here at the moment - which is great as I am not really a fan of the white stuff, although it does make everything look very pretty wrapped in white and sparkle.

Here is my card for Di's Snippet challenge.

Apart from the card base and the image, everything else is from the scrap draw.  I managed to find another teeny piece of black card which was lodged at the back of the draw :-).

That's all from me - stay warm and safe.  See you all soon.

Butterfly Challenge - Z is for zero and/or zuchini

Hi everyone, hope you are all well.  I have to get my skates on to enter Mrs. A's Butterfly Challenge as there are only hours to go!  Here is my card, I have gone for zuchini (hues of yellow and green).

The stamp is a Claritystamp, carnations.  I decided to try a watercolour background starting from two shades of yellow, and going through to three shades of green, using my SU markers.  The carnations are also watercoloured.  I am not great at this, and I forget that the painting can be quite loose, but my inner tidy self says I must colour within the lines. :-)  The next photo shows the background  better I think.
I cut the butterflies from a scrap of the background.  Must dash and link up now.  See you soon.

Field of flowers

Hello, and happy Wednesday.  I have to remind myself of what day it is, it feels like a Monday as it is my first day back at work.  Here is my card which I will take into Di's Snippets playground as the small white pieces with the artwork on and the black card are scraps.  I think this is the last of my black card 😒.

The flowers and butterflies are from the SU stamp set 'Field of flowers'.  I needed some inspiration so I went to my pinterest board for this layout.http://craft-e-place.blogspot.co.uk/2016/05/two-cards-one-stamp-set.html

Thanks for dropping by. Lynn x

Petals and Posies

Hello there, I do hope that you have all had a reasonable first day of January 2017.  Mine has been spent with family, and we had a lovely Sunday lunch.

I have a few birthdays in January, so I thought I would crack on with my makes.  Here is my card:

This uses the Petals and Posies from SU, and the current Freshly Made Sketches was my starting point
