Oh dear!!!

Hi there, I am typing this post on a borrowed laptop as my desktop has taken poorly. (That's a technical term for 'I don't know what the heck has happened!).  I was going to post my christmas cards to the Rudolph Day challenge, but I can't upload on them (sigh).  Catch you all when I can.  Have crafty fun. Pixie's Snippet Playground 126 and Butterfly Challenge

I hear Di is off on her travels this weekend, so I hope everyone stays safe in the playground whilst 'Miss' is away.  Here is my snippet card -

The snippets are the scalloped and banner papers, the dress, which was paper-pieced, and the sentiment.
The papers are from Lily of the Valley (Bonnets and Bowties), the image is Sheela Douglas, and the sentiment is Pink Petticoat.   I shall also enter this into Mrs. A's Butterfly Challenge Bingo this week. I have used Pink - Butterfiles (or butterfly in my case) - dry embossing.  The dry embossing is on the scallop border (petite dots) and on the banner (clouds), although sadly the camera has not picked that up.
Have a good Bank Holiday everyone. Lynn x

Frugal Friday #4

Hi there, hope you are enjoying your bank holiday weekend - at least the rain has stopped here.  I am playing over at Lizy's House of  Cards, for the Frugal Friday challenge, and here is a picture of my offcuts, and my finished card.

This uses Midnight muse and Summer Starfruit cardstock, and the dress framelit die, and Petite Petals, and Petal Parade stamps.  Decorated with a couple of charms I had to hand too.  Thanks for looking. Lynn x

Butterfly Challenge #8 - Bingo

Hi there, sorry late posting Mrs. A for your butterfly challenge but was not able to get internet - technology, eh?!  Well, here is my card:

I used some vintage DSP, my Marianne diecuts, and of course my well-used SU sizzlits butterfly die.  The stamps are IndigoBlue.  Hope you enjoy the challenge - I shall show another card for the challenge shortly.
Have fun! Lynn x

Frugal Friday #3

Well, I have finally dived into the box again to retrieve these:

and this is what I made:
I used the sketch and Simply Cards and Papercraft magazine, which was for 'new home'.  The row of houses are a Clarity stamp, and the main image is a freebie from Craft Stamper a long time ago now. Banner punch is SU.  Please visit Lizy, and join in the challenge. Lynn x

Snippets Playground week 125

What a glorious weekend! Hope everyone has been able to enjoy the sunshine.  On to this week's Snippets card:

Another box card - I made this one a bit quicker and neater than the last one.  The card is Hunkydory and the images are from Crafter's Companion Makey Bakey Mice everyday papercrafting kit.  The snippets are the pink mats, the flowers in the box (SU petite petals) and the butterflies, which I managed to fix to some jewellery wire.  Haven't done a photo of this, but the verse is on a tag which is housed in a pocket on the back of the card.  I think I can hear lots of splashing of water and giggling and screams from the Playground, so I am off to join in the fun.  Lynn x

Frugal Friday #2

Hi there, over on Lizy's blog it is time for Frugal Friday.  Here is a picture of my offcuts, and my card.

The flower is one I cut with the sizzix die, and never used (the colour is supposed to be strawberry slush).
The butterflies I made for another challenge, but they did not quite work on the card I had in mind.  The banners are from Petite Banners (SU).  Thanks for looking. Lynn x

Snippet playground 124

I have been playing with a new die from SU (well, for me, anyway) - and done  a bit of dressing up.  I saw a card similar to this on pinterest - it is on my board under card ideas.
This used offcuts of designer paper, and the blue mat.  Just enough ribbon too, which I thought echoes the card colours quite nicely - anyone would think I had a plan, lol! Oh, and a handbag charm I have had for ages. Off to play now in the Snippet Playground. Lynn x

Butterfly Challenge No. 7 -( Valentine card?! How did that happen??)

I had to get my thinking cap on for this challenge of Mrs. A's.  This week she would like to see a doily used on your creation - either a bought doily, template or die cut.  Here is what I came up with:
Now this card was inspired by one I had seen and put on my pinterest board - which had die cut letters spelling out 'love', and it reminded me of this die cut I had not used for some time.  The doily I folded in half and machined part-way up intending the stitching to be a butterfly trail.  Then I saw my delicate doilies stamps from SU and used one of those, and the birds from Clearly Besotted.  Which inspired me to make a tag with the words 'be mine' on which I tucked inside the heart pocket. The butterflies are my well-used sizzlits die.  And so, to me anyway, a valentine card was created - a far cry from what I had in mind! Hope you play along and enjoy the challenge. Lynn x

Sunday Snippets week 123 and Sketch Saturday 308

I am posting my Sunday Snippets over on the Snippets Playground on a Sunday! Well done me! Here is my card:

Background paper from a previous make, and bits of black card, and the last of my black star brads which I have had simply ages.  All stamps are SU.  Oh, and a bit of Jose Rose bling.
I have used the sketch from Sketch Saturday for this one, so shall link this to that challenge also.  Here is a pic of the sketch if you wish to join in.
Have a good Bank Holiday. Lynn x

New Challenge - Frugal Friday #1 and (Sunday Snippets 123)

Over on Lizy's blog she has set up a new challenge called Frugal Friday.  You photograph the bits of scraps you intend to use, and then photograph the finished product (can be any type of project).  Please hop over there and take a look - she made a super card. Here is my attempt.

All of the products are SU, apart from the sentiment. I was so frugal, that I did not use all of the pieces of card, lol.  Thanks Lizy for such a great challenge, this card is just for you! Lynn x

Edit:  As these are snippets I shall also be entering this card into Di's Sunday Snippets, and perhaps another one too, for good measure, so that I can use up even more bits and bobs.

Glamorous butterfly - Butterfly Challenge #6

Since I have received my goodies from Mrs. A, the Joleen Boutique 3D butterflies, I thought I would just use ONE on my card to show you.  They are so beautiful I really don't want them to flutter away, lol.
I know, the photo does not do it justice!  The image is a digi image from Crafter's Companion CDROM. The dies are SU sizzix. Lynn x

penny slider card

I have been playing with the CDrom from the Crafter's Companion Inspiration Spring issue (4), and the images from the Angelica and Adam CD.
A little bit of matting with coredinations cardstock, and honeycomb embossing, and the star dies and the stamping on them are from Clearly Besotted.  Thanks for looking. Lynn x

Butterfly Challenge No. 6

Hi there, this next two weeks Mrs. A. would like to see glamorous butterflies - glitter and shine.  Here is my card.
This is the best photo I could get, and it still does not capture the glitter on the butterflies (big sigh).  This box card fits into a 15x15cm envelope - the first one I have made, but will try again as I will do things a little differently next time.  The flowers are a mixture of petite petals from SU and Marianne dies.  The butterflies were from the SU sizzlits die.  The snippet of glitter card happened to match perfectly with the design paper, so that is how this card came about.
I'll flutter over to the Butterfly Challenge page now, and will be back later in the week with another card.

As this uses up snippets for the flowers, as well as the butterflies, I am going to put my wellies on and jump in the puddles over at the Snippets Playground. Lynn x

Rudolph Day in April

Hello on this very wet April 25th.  Here are my cards for Rudolph Day over at Stamping for Pleasure.

These cards were inspired by a previous Mojo Monday sketch, and the embossing folders and sentiment are from Crafter's Companion. The real red card stock is from SU, and for me this is a proper christmas red. - simply gorgeous.
Thanks for looking, and Sarn has produced some cute robin redbreast cards - take a peep. Lynn x

Sunday Snippets week 121

Hope you all had a relaxing Easter break.  Here is my card for the Snippets Playground:
This uses the SU Wetlands stamp set and chevron ribbon.  Apart from the base card, all the other bits were snippets. (Hm, it looks as if this little gander has trodden down the grass lol, will have to put that right).
Have a good week. Lynn x

Sketch Saturday 305

No post for a few days, then three turn up at once, lol!  Just a few hours to join in with this week's Sketch Saturday, so here is the sketch and  my card:

This card shows a Penny Black stamp and sentiment, a cloud embossing folder, and a little bit of machine stitching.
I hope you all have a relaxing Bank Holiday.  Lynn x

Fusion Challenge - flowers (or maybe not!)

This is the sketch and photo for the Fusion challenge, and I chose to follow the sketch.

No flowers! I saw a banner.  This card uses - SU products, framelits and petite banners stamps and punch, and gorgeous grunge.  The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted.
I might go and try a flower one now - the challenge is open until 22nd April if you feel like playing along.

Butterfly Challenge 5 and Snippets Playground

Hi there, I am certainly enjoying the Butterfly challenges.  This time around, it is to use a charm on your card, as well as a butterfly.  Here is my card:

This is a gatefold card, and cut away the edge with a circle die.  The butterfly charm I made from shrink plastic.  It is stamped with 'Butterfly Beauties' from the Stampman.  The flourishes are a Marieanne design, and the flowers are made from SU clay and molds.  The sentiments are from SU Perfect Pennants. and the design papers are also SU.
As this card used scraps of cream and coloured card, and my bit of shrink plastic, I will be going over to say hello the Parsnip and the playmates in the Snippets Playground.
Thanks for looking - Lynn x

balloons and bunting

Hi there, I have been busy making a batch of birthday cards, and thought I would like to share them with you.  This one does not look so garish in real life - mainly SU products.  The embossing folder is a Crafter's Companion one.

The card below uses the SU Wetlands stamp set.
This next card uses a Clearly Besotted Birthday set for the balloons, and the bunting is made from the SU petite banners.  A very useful stamp set and punch, I think.
Thanks for looking.  Lynn x

Butterfly Challenge - Yellow card

Just in time again this week to play over at Mrs. A's Butterfly Challenge, where she wants to see a yellow card, with a butterfly.  So I decided to make my Easter cards.
I have used the new SU Petite Petals and coordinating punch, Marianne swirl die, and the new download papers from Pink Petticoat called Pretty Printemps.  As this card also uses lots of my scraps, I shall be trotting off to the Snippets Playground.

Rudolph Day - March 2014

My, oh my, the year is simply whizzing past.  Here is my post for Rudolph Day over at Stamping for pleasure.

This time I have chosen to use the cute Barkley from the CC  christmas Inspiration CD.  I have put a bit of glamour dust on to these, but not really showing up in pics. See you soon.  Lynn x

Sketch Saturday 302

This week's sketch is by Cathy at Sketch Saturday.  Here is the sketch, and my card.

I have used SU framelit dies, ribbon, dsp and sizzix flower die.  The sentiment is from Pink Petticoat, but I don't know whether it is still available.  Lovely creations by the design team. Lynn x

A stitch in time

Hi there, just fluttering by Mrs. A's Butterfly Challenge blog - just about made it this week.
This week you need to show stitching (faux or real) on your creation, plus a butterfly.  My card uses several SU stamp sets, Banner Blast, Gorgeous Grunge, 2-step stamping butterflies. The emboss folder is a border die I had free with Simply Cards and Papercraft this month (issue 122).  Thanks for looking. Lynn x

Fancy folds

I have been browsing my Pinterest board again, and I have made these cards from my inspiration board - this first one is a tri-fold card, and the second is an A5, which has had the front z-folded to house a bookmark.

These cards use papers from Crafter's Companion - Bebunni paper kit, and SWALK CD rom.  The flowers on the second one are SU and matching dies. Thanks for looking, and have a great weekend. Lynn x

Sketch Saturday 300

This week Sketch Saturday have reached a milestone sketch of 300.  This sketch was the very first one launched -
For this one I have used a stamp set I bought a few weeks ago from Crafter's Companion called 'Sweet Little Girl' from the SWALK collection.

Now if you follow Jen Nelson's blog (The Tiny Blue Butterfly), she has set a little challenge for herself and her friend Rachel.  "shop from our own unused crafty stash and not buy new goodies for the next 60 days".  She has invited folks to take up the challenge too.  As I had already decided that during Lent I would not buy any crafty goodies, I thought I would join in the fun.  So this stamp is from my "shopping my stash" box.  Thanks for looking. Lynn x

Butterfly Challenge No. 2

I decided to make a little butterfly-shaped box this time for this challenge of Mrs. A's, which  is butterfly, button and bow (or more) -
I used a template which I found on pinterest here (pdf download).  I printed my card on both sides using co-ordinating papers from a Crafter's Companion SWALK CD.  The swirl is a Marianne die, and the butterfly punch is SU, which I layered several times.  The little tag is from Clearly Besotted.  As I have used snippets for the embellishments I shall pop over to the Snippets Playground too. Thanks for looking. Lynn x

Sketch Saturday

This week is truly flying by!  My card today uses Sketch Saturday sketch 298 by Alex -
The image is Lola Rose from Pink Petticoat - I think she may only be available for a short time now - and the papers and chipboard shapes are from a pad which was free in QCME mag some time ago (Parisian dreams by Jenny Ellory). Hope you are all having a good week. Lynn x

Rudolph Day 2

Rudolph day over at Sarn's blog - and there is a lovely prize up for grabs too.
Two very different  cards - the first one uses a digi stamp from the Spectrum Noir CD, and the other uses elements from Nitwits 'Homespun' bundle.  That's 4 cards ready for Christmas now - woohoo!  I look forward to seeing all of the other entries.  Don't forget to join in, you only have until 28th Feb. Lynn x

Butterfly challenge

Here is another post for Mrs. A's Butterfly Challenge.

Penny Black 'Flying Stars', SU coastal cabanna cardstock, SU butterfly die, and the patterned papers are from a Lilly Bimbles paper pad which was free with Quick Cards Made Easy mag some time ago. Thanks for looking. Lynn x
